How to Install a Shower Faucet in 7 Easy Steps

Installing a shower faucet is not a herculean task. If you know the right tricks it is as easy as conjuring up a rabbit in mid-air. Here is how to install a shower faucet in 7 easy steps.

Before starting the installation here are few things you need to take care.

Check the supply pipe for leaks.

Replace wall with moisture resistance dry wall as base for wall covering.

Always clean the pipe thread and apply a new pipe joint compound.

Run hot and cold water lines to shower mixing valve attached.

Plan for a trap door in wall.

These are just a few pointers you need to take care before installation. Now let us begin the installation.

First you can connect the shower in two ways. You can either choose the conventional method with copper pipes or you can opt for PEX pipes. The plastic pipes are easy to install when compared to the copper pipes.

The next thing you need to do is the shut off the water supply and drill a hole in the shower walls with a hole saw. It is better to plan before hand where to install the shower and the faucet and mark them with a pencil.

Now position the valve so that UP indication points upward and then connect the hot and cold water pipes to each side of the valve. When welding them take care to see that overheating does not take place. You can also use welding adapters if required. Secure the valve inside the wall and connect the raise tube and spout pipe in welded adapters. If valve is without spout then use a brass cap to block the outlet that will not be used. Put the shower in place. This completes the installation of the valve.

Next to install the faucet handle slide the decorative plate in the valve and position the handle screw adapter on cartridge using hexagonal key.

Now to install the shower head connect the upper outlet to shower head supply pipe after applying Teflon tape. Wrap clockwise the shower head's pipe filets with Teflon tape. Manually screw shower head using adjustable wrench.

Finally to install the spout turn the spout on copper pipe so that set screw faces up. Tighten the screw with hexagonal key and then turn spout to normal position.

Last but not the least open the hot and cold water supply and check if there is no leak. Next open the faucet to lukewarm position to release all the air caught in the pipes.

That's it. You are done. Now you can show off your skills to your wife or your neighbor.

Baby Shower Crafts

During the preparation for the arrival of a newborn baby, many families would like to throw a party to mark the big day. As the host, you may invite a lot of people. It would therefore be very important to find fun but easy-to-do activities that would make all of the invited guests get occupied and feel as part of the celebrations.

Invited guests may prefer to bring in baby shower crafts bought directly from the shops, while others, due to the rising prices of the items may decide to try their hands on some creative hand crafts. If this is the case then, you may find that you will require ample space for them to make their crafts and in as many numbers as they would feel appropriate.

It is very important to involve the family of the mother-to-be, especially if there are older children as this would be a perfect opportunity for them to express their feelings towards the arrival of the new born baby. Make sure to provide most if not all of the materials that will be required. Hand made baby shower crafts made in the presence of the expectant mother have a more lasting 'happy' effect than those ready-made ones and they help ease the tension that comes with the birth of the baby.

To make the baby shower crafts more unique and eye-striking, you could ask the guests to take advantage of and borrow ideas from the Internet and any existing books that have information about how to do it. Different ideas will give rise to special and treasure creations.

CWC's Second Message - The Re-Cut

Christian Chandler shocked critics when he spoke out against those that hate on him. Unfortunately, we believe that his presentation negatively impacted his message. Thus, for your consideration, enjoy CWC's Second Message: The Re-Cut --- I, Christian W. Chandler, would like to take the oppertunity to present an open message to the world. For those of you that aren't familiar with myself and my varied exploits, I am the creator of the much-vaunted Sonichu: The Electric Hedgehog Po-key-mon. I stand before you to, hopefully, explain my situation and make you better aware of the undue stress that have been levied against my personage. Not unlike the siege of Carthage during the Sicilian Wars, the myriad Internet detractors with whom I'm forced to engage on a daily basis is bewildering and wholly unnecessary. I can't help but to feel pity for those that would make light of my issues as a means of finding enjoyment. Just think about it: you're making light of someone else's pain, someone else's lone-lee-ness, still on my quest to find a boyfriend-free girl. You think I'm some sap? A chump, a dumbass? Whatever you may think, know this: it is you that is truly loathsome. Additionally, let me address those of you that want to compare me to a character on Family Guy: that sophomoric, entirely formulaic animated television programme that caters to children and the mentally infirm. Your comparisons are invalid. If anything, it is my detractors that are the pedophiles. On a similar ...

Themes For a Bridal Shower

The traditional bridal shower was intended to help the new bride stock her new home with essential items. The result was often an overwhelming assortment of pots and pans and bath towels! With a little planning, the host can alleviate this problem and throw a fabulous party.

It all starts with having a specific theme for the shower and building refreshments, decorations, activities and even types of gifts around the theme.

Construction/Remodeling Shower

If the new couple is building or remodeling their new home, consider hosting a shower that will provide some of the much needed tools and materials to complete the project. This is a great theme for co-ed showers and has a "construction site" feel to the decor. It can be held indoors, outdoors or even in the garage. Set up tables using sawhorses and plywood. Complement the rustic tables with centerpieces of flowers in paint cans accented with basic tools such as hammers and screwdrivers. These tools can then be used as favors for the guests when they depart. Appropriate gifts for the new couple are power tools, hand tools, and gift cards to local hardware stores.

Garden Party Shower

This shower is also good for co-ed showers and focuses on lawn and garden items for the couple. Decorate using beautiful flowers in fabric wrapped pots that can later be planted at the couple's home. Coordinate plates, napkins and other tableware to the outdoor theme. Wildflower seed packets are a thoughtful guest favor and can be used to enhance the table setting. Gifts for the couple include lawn trimmers, garden tools and other landscaping supplies.

Bed and Bath Shower

Bedroom and Bathroom supplies for the couple are the intent of this shower. A gift registry is helpful for this type of shower as the personal preference and style of the couple are especially important in these rooms. Towels, linens, and décor items are appropriate gifts. Shaped soaps or bath confetti are good items to consider for guest favors.

Kitchen Shower

Many new couples are anxious to receive useful kitchen items. Small appliances, bakeware, pots, pans and dishes are some of the endless kitchen supplies they will be happy to receive. This shower easily combines with items for the dining room to include stocking the couple's china cabinet. The hostess may also request that the guest bring a favorite recipe to compile a cookbook for the couple. A fun activity would be for guests to share their own cooking disaster story!

Tea Party

Afternoon tea parties are excellent choices for bridal showers. It is the perfect opportunity to decorate with beautiful flowers, candles and tableware. Refreshments such as scones, tea, sandwiches, and dainty petit fours can be displayed on lovely platters. Teacups and personalized teabags are wonderful guest favors and place card holders also enhance the place settings. The hostess may focus on a category of gifts or may simply communicate to guests that a gift registry is available.

Lingerie Shower

A lingerie shower is a great way for a group of close friends to help a new bride celebrate her upcoming marriage.  A small private setting works best for this shower as some brides may be embarrassed by displaying intimate apparel in public.  Beautiful lingerie is a wonderful gift and votive candles, massage oils, lotions and other pampering items are also appropriate. The hostess may have a licensed massage therapist attend who will give hand and chair massages to the guests. Candles or scented soaps would make wonderful guest favors.

The Hair Experiment - Part 2 (Before Brazilian Keratin Treatment)

Right after a shower. I don't shampoo, just condition. Half of my hair has "product" in it. 3 parts hand lotion to 1 part gel. Let's see what it looks like after it air dries. We'll compare these before and afters to the before and after's of after I have the BKT done.
