How the Sprite Shower Filter Cleans Water

Taking a shower is one of life's little luxuries that many of us take for granted. However, the shower environment is not always the clean and hygienic environment it may first appear. There are many chemicals added to your water, to ensure it arrives pure of any harmful bacteria. One chemical added in this process is chlorine. Working on a process similar to a catalytic convertor in the car, a Sprite shower filter converts potentially harmful chlorine, into harmless chloride.

NSF certified, Sprite shower filters use a chemical reaction called, "Reduction-Oxidation", or Redox for short. Now, this is unsurprisingly quite a complex process, but in essence works by creating new elements: Free-chlorine, flows through the filtration media, where the electrons and molecules are transferred, to produce chloride. The resultant chloride element is too large to be absorbed through the skin, so passes harmlessly back into the water supply.

The filtration used in a Sprite shower filter comprises two types of media. The first is called, Chlorgon, which was developed and patented by David Farley - CEO of Sprite Industries, Inc. The second is Kinetic Degradation Fluxion, let's call it KDF!

Chlorgon works by converting many different free and combined chlorine into the harmless chloride, and works through the temperature scale from ice cold, to skin sheddingly hot.

KDF also converts free chlorine to its harmless cousin chloride, through high-purity copper-zinc formulations, whilst also removing iron oxides.

The treated water is pH balanced, to further be gentle on the skin, whilst removing dirt and sediments that may have been collected in the pipes or through the heating elements.
